Our Caregivers

At Agate Home Care, the most important qualities we look for in our staff are demonstrated skill, commitment and passion for the work they do. We believe that caregiving should not be transactional – we take a more intimate, care-managed approach. To achieve that, we maintain a healthy, supportive work environment for our team. We have low staff turnover, which we attribute to our respect for our employees and fair employment practices.

We fully employ our workforce – which means the client or their family doesn’t have to worry about employment details. We adhere to state and federal guidelines in all of our employment practices, and we provide workers’ compensation, minimizing the client’s risk in the event of a caregiver’s injury on the job. Agate Home Care is a bonded and insured agency.

Staff training and screening

Agate Home Care provides a regular program of pre-assignment and ongoing training for all staff. In addition, clients may request a face-to-face meeting with caregivers prior to the start of service.

Our caregiver screening process includes an Georgia Department of Community Health fingerprint-based healthcare worker background check and professional reference checks. More information about staff training and pre-employment screening is on our Careers page.
